Vacationing outside the RoK

First off, I have recently had a handful of new followers, so… hey ya’ll! I haven’t written a post in a while (busy school/mom/wife life), but I hope you all have been able to take away something from this blog, whether it be help with your NCS move, or just enjoying some of the sights of the RoK.

I wanted to write a quick post about how easy it is to vacation around Asia while in South Korea. For our first vacay, we decided to see some friends stationed at Kadena Air Base in Okinawa, Japan. Just a short flight away (approx. 2 hours), Okinawa is home to some of the most beautiful beaches in the world! We have taken up the hobby of drone flying here, so please enjoy some of the footage we captured:

To get to Okinawa, we traveled from Incheon International Airport in Seoul to Naha Airport in Naha, Okinawa. We used Peach Airlines to book our tickets, which is a Japanese budget airline (think Spirit, Frontier, etc.) Not luxurious, but cheap and easy. Plus, our total cost was less than $500 USD for three seats roundtrip. This makes for a nice long weekend trip, but trust me, if we could have stayed longer we would have!

To get to Seoul and back, we took a city bus from Songtan Bus Terminal directly to Incheon Airport. Less than $15 a seat (cheaper for kids), and a much larger and nicer bus than the base ITT bus). All I have to say is – RECLINING SEATS AND FOOT RESTS. Yasss.
